YOUTH AND JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP
The DMV WSO Committee is excited to celebrate our youth and junior athletes who have qualified for and will compete at Nationals Week in Colorado Springs. We know the hard work and long training sessions that go into achieving a qualifying total, and also know that this is just the beginning. To that end, we're excited to support our athletes by covering the early bird registration fee for anyone who qualified prior to the early registration deadline, and the regular registration fee for anyone who qualifies after the early registration deadline.
Eligibility criteria:
-
All Youth and Junior athletes who are designated as a DMV WSO athlete within BARS. If you have relocated and your BARS account reflects a different WSO, you can update this by emailing usaw@usaweightlifting.org.
-
Qualification must occur at (i) a national event (Series I, Series II, Nationals, or Series Finals), (ii) a meet taking place within the DMV WSO, or (iii) an online qualifier.
-
This is a pilot program and is based on funding availability. While we hope to support all of our youth and junior athletes, scholarships will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis subject to funding.
Applications must be submitted no later than June 3, 2026. Please note that it may take some time for the Committee review qualifying entries and issue codes for use in BARS. The Committee will not be responsible if applications are submitted close to the deadline (even if before the deadline) and the Committee does not provide you with a code in time for you to register your athlete.
